Desk settings
Set how many days ahead desks can be booked and check which desk features are enabled.
In the desk settings you decide how desk booking works across your company: how many days ahead employees can book desks and which features they can use. You'll find the settings in Desks > Settings.
Good to know: You set the number of days yourself. The other features are turned on and off and configured by the Tidaro support team. The settings page shows whether they are enabled. To change them, contact Tidaro Support.
In short
- Bookable days ahead: how many workdays ahead employees see in the book a desk tab. This is the default value for every office area.
- Interactive maps, Desk parameters, Colleague finder, Who is in the office and Colleague invites: features for employees, turned on by the support team.
- Desk Notifications After Admin Action: whether employees get a push or email notification when an admin changes their booking or a desk's status.
How to open the desk settings
- In the left menu, under Manage, unfold Desks.
- Click Settings.
Bookable days ahead
Here you set how many workdays ahead employees see in the book a desk tab, and so how far in advance they can book desks. This value applies by default in every office area. For a specific area you can set a different number of days in its settings (see the article "Office area settings").
Only workdays are counted. For example, if you set 2 visible workdays, on Monday employees see Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and on Friday they see Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
If you want your employees to plan their office visits weekly, we recommend setting this number to 5. You can also try other values and see what fits your company best. If your employees book desks and then don't use them, try setting a low number of days.
- Open Desks > Settings.
- In Number of visible workdays in "book a desk" tab, type in the number of days.
- Click Save at the bottom of the page.
Features turned on by the support team
For these features you can see whether they are enabled for your company.
- Interactive maps: employees book desks by choosing them on the office map.
- Desk parameters: desks can be labelled with equipment and characteristics so employees can filter them (see "Filtering desks by parameters"). If you can't see parameters in your desk details, contact support.
- Colleague finder: employees can quickly find colleagues in the office (see "Finding colleagues in the office").
- Who is in the office: employees see which colleagues booked a desk in a given area on a given day.
- Colleague invites: employees can invite colleagues to book desks nearby (see "Inviting colleagues to the office").
- Desk Notifications After Admin Action: When an admin changes an employee's desk booking for a specific day (for example in the daily view) or changes a desk's default status (in the area settings), the affected employees get a notification. It can be a push notification, an email notification, or both.
