Tablet mode

A tablet at the room door shows its availability and lets people book it on the spot.

Kiosk Mode is a Tidaro feature for tablets placed in front of meeting rooms. It lets people book the room right at the door, check whether it is free and manage an ongoing meeting, without using a phone or computer.

Each tablet shows only one room: the one it is mounted at, together with all its bookings.

Good to know: Kiosk Mode is available in the Room Plus package.

What can I do in Kiosk Mode?

  • Book the room on the spot: reserve the room directly on the tablet with one tap. This makes spontaneous meetings easy, without opening the mobile app.
  • Check availability: the tablet clearly shows whether the room is available or occupied, and lists upcoming and past bookings for the day. Standing at the door, you know at once whether you can go in, wait or book the room for later.
  • Manage an ongoing meeting: end the meeting and release the room. This stops rooms from being blocked when nobody is using them.
  • Real-time sync: all actions on the tablet appear immediately in the Tidaro mobile app, the web app and Outlook (when integrated). This keeps data consistent and prevents scheduling conflicts.

How to book a room on the tablet

If the room is free, the screen shows the time slots you can book. The options depend on how long the room stays free:

  • If the room is free for the next 60 minutes, you can book 60 min, 30 min or 15 min.
  • If the room is free for the next 42 minutes, you can book 42 min, 30 min or 15 min.
  1. Check that the tablet shows the room as free.
  2. Tap the time slot you want.

The booking starts immediately and appears in the calendar.

How to release the room when you leave

What you see depends on how long the booking has been running:

  • Less than 15 minutes: tap Cancel reservation. Short bookings are cancelled rather than shortened.
  • More than 15 minutes: tap Release room now. The booking ends at that moment and the room is free straight away.

How to check the room's bookings on the tablet

The tablet shows the schedule only for the room where it is installed. To see all bookings and check when the room is free, scroll through the calendar on the tablet.

Can I see other rooms on the tablet?

No. Each tablet shows only the room it is mounted at, with that room's bookings.

Will a booking made on the tablet show up in Outlook?

Yes, if your company uses the Outlook integration. Bookings made on the tablet also appear straight away in the Tidaro mobile and web apps.

Why can't I book a full 60 minutes?

The tablet only offers slots that fit within the time the room stays free. If the room is free for 42 minutes, the longest slot you can choose is 42 min.
